For the past 20 years Styropack has supplied Pan Fish Scotland, one of the leading salmon farmers in the UK, with fish boxes made from EPS (expanded polystyrene).

"We have a very good relationship with Styropack; they consistently supply us with a quality product at the right price," says Ernie MacPherson, Processing Plant Manager.

"So even when we've been approached by competitors, we've always stayed with Styropack - we know we can rely on them."

Pan Fish buys around 650,000 standard fish boxes from Styropack each year. The boxes are used to transport fresh salmon around the UK and the world. The insulation and protection provided by the EPS boxes ensures that the fish arrives in a good condition and is safe to eat.

"We currently buy three different kinds of salmon boxes, each one is well-suited to do a particular job for us," explains Ernie McPherson.

"We buy ordinary air freight boxes, skinned air freight boxes for the Japanese market and road freight boxes for transportation around the UK.

"Using the right packaging so that the fish arrives in the best possible condition is an essential part of our service pledge to our customers.

"That means that our packaging supplier has to be completely reliable and provide us with an excellent service. Styropack plays a key role in helping us to get it right every time."
