Horti Jumbo Six-Pack Wins Customers in UK and Overseas

In June 2005, Styropack UK, the leading supply of EPS (expanded polystyrene) bedding trays to the horticulture sector launched the UK's first-ever EPS jumbo six-pack tray.

The single, solid pack, which incorporates six large pots equivalent to six individual 10cm pots, has been very well received by growers. Around three-quarters of a million have been sold in the UK over the past 10 months.

Gideon Woodhouse, UK Sales Manager explains the benefits: "The jumbo six-pack is a great option for any grower in the UK who wants to supply larger, better quality plants as an added value option for the retailer.

"It has been successfully used for many plants including nemesia, verbenia and large geraniums. With the jumbo six-pack you can supply bigger plants while still offering the customer a value pack.

"And, these more mature plants offer a sturdy, more viable plant choice."

As the sole supplier of these six-pack trays in the UK, Styropack has been delighted with their warm reception and their popularity has even spread abroad.

"In March 2006 we started exporting the jumbo six-pack to growers in Denmark," reports Gideon. "It is a surprising development, it demonstrates the great opportunity the jumbo six-pack offers to growers who want to develop high value options for their customers."
