Styropack UK is pleased to announce new business wins worth £1.8 million in 2006. This is up from £0.5 million in 2005 and demonstrates the success of the positive approach taken by the UK's market leader in protective packaging.
The new business was all in bespoke, moulded EPS (expanded polystyrene) packaging. Richard Lee, Sales Director, Styropack UK comments: "We are delighted with these business wins. EPS is a great material; it offers robust, reliable protection and outstanding insulation. It makes up the majority of our business, so it is very pleasing to see the substantial growth in this area."
Richard Lee, Sales Director
Styropack achieved these results in an extremely competitive environment, at a challenging time for the UK manufacturing sector and for the protective packaging industry. The company attributes its success to its proactive business strategy, Richard Lee says: "In 2006 we invested in the future. We installed the latest EPS machinery and bought cutting edge design equipment."
The new, fast machines increased Styropack's capabilities and efficiency. Clearly the investment paid off, Lee explains: "We have been able to capitalise on every opportunity and we have consistently provided our customers with a top level, quality service.
"In addition to the machinery investment programme, in 2006 we built a creative business development team and it has successfully focussed on specific sectors and customers. As a consequence, we won substantial new contracts with blue chip companies like Pioneer, Baxi Potterton and Astracast; companies and contracts that - I suspect - our competitors are envious of!"
Success breeds success and Styropack UK is looking forward to 2007 with confidence: "We had a good year in 2006, now we want to built on that and achieve even more in 2007," concludes Lee.
