Gavin Birnie is New MD for Vencel Resil

Gavin Birnie, Managing Director of leading protective packaging manufacturer, Styropack UK, has been appointed Managing Director of Vencel Resil - a sister company in the Synbra Group.

The Synbra board has noted the results of Birnie's strong leadership and outstanding management skills - Styropack announced new business wins of £1.8 million in 2006 - and it is keen to see Vencel Resil benefit from Birnie's dynamic approach.

Vencel Resil manufactures and supplies expanded polystyrene solutions to the construction, civil engineering, house building and DIY industries: "This is an exciting, new challenge for me," says Birnie.

"Vencel Resil has effectively developed markets for its products and solutions despite difficult trading, now we need to build on these successes and develop the business within a testing marketplace."

As Managing Director of both businesses, Birnie is in a unique position to strengthen inter-group synergies, while he continues to lead the two individual companies onto even greater success in their own sectors.
