Crosby's Nurseries

"With Styropack as our supplier, we don't have to worry about the quality of the product or the reliability of the delivery."
Nigel Crosby, Crosby's Nurseries

Arthur Crosby founded Crosby's Nurseries in 1939, today Crosby's is still a family firm, but now his grandsons run it.

Styropack has supplied Crosby's with EPS (expanded polystyrene) plant trays for as long Nigel Crosby can remember: "The service we get from Styropack is very good.

"We get a 48 hour turnaround, which is important to us as we have limited storage space. We have to be able to rely on Styropack. We know we can just give them a call with an order and it will delivered at the agreed time".

Styropack supplies Crosby's with around 150,000 trays during the season. They are compatible with the Danish trolley system, which makes them easy to use - a key feature for the horticulture industry.

"The EPS trays are lightweight and tough, but most important to us is that they are easy to handle. We use machines to fill and plant trays so they must fit in with our system.

"Later the trays are stacked and loaded onto lorries before being distributed to garden centres, landscapers and local councils all over the UK. At each stage of the process the EPS tray performs well and is safe and easy to handle.

"That is why we keep buying them. And, we have a good working partnership with Styropack; we can rely on an efficient response and the price is right."
